As part of the repair and refurbishment of 25 Church Row (see also Georgian Buildings/Church Row), the garden was redesigned, and a terrace and new rear entrance was created.
Carefully composed lyrical elements create the new terrace: a pond with fountain against the boundary wall, a horizontal plane and a bench. The new terrace explores the fixed materiality of stone and slate altered by light and shade, rain and sun. The terrace is lined with random coursed green slate laid between Portland Stone strips. The movement of the sun is registered in stainless steel demarcations on the horizontal plane, and the back of the bench is a sundial.
