Butler Hegarty Architects led two projects at Grafton School, Holloway in 2005 and 2008, exploring the history and urban environment of Holloway Road. A range of media were used (sketches, photography, collages, rubbings) to record a visit to Holloway Road. Historical maps were analysed and a timeline was constructed comparing people and events to the information in the maps. The drawn and recorded characteristics of Holloway Road were then used to produce two distinct artworks: LIghtbox - a display of overlapping coloured transparent images (2005); Mosaic - a collection of shallow boxes containing bas reliefs in clay, foil, and card (2008).
